first of all, i’d like to say that i don’t like DOUBLE NEGATIVES because I LOVE ‘EM! HAHA! :D

AIN’T… it’s not even a word. it’s a slang. it’s not even in dictionaries. and i don’t really know why i’m saying these things… i suddenly had an urge to blog.

there are things, okay..  people, who at some times annoy me, but i don’t hate them. sometimes i get annoyed and it’s because i have bad feelings about their decisions and with the way they do with their lives, and what’s to happen to them in the long run. i’m annoyed because they don’t care to listen and understand what i’m trying to warn or to remind them. they don’t listen, and i’m just trying to protect them. and when they get to the point or situation where i was before or am still in, and see them regret or frustrated, i get hurt too.

so here’s the actual reason behind that previous paragraph…

i’m annoyed by one of my nieces. yes, this isn’t just a common annoying-kid situation. she’s about 11 or 12 years old, and she’s starting to get “addicted” to the INTERNET. in such early age, i don’t want her to have the same life that i have. and even the same problems and mistakes that i encounter. she has an FB account, a Twitter account, a Plurk account (i didn’t even bother adding her anymore)… and she’s spending and trying to spend even more of her time just to check on these accounts. i’m quite sure she hasn’t made online friends yet though. anyway, what’s really annoying me right NOW, is that she wants to update her Twitter via her mobile phone, and she wants me to tell her how to. AND I DIDN’T WANT TO! it’s not that i don’t want her to enjoy, not that i’m being selfish and all…  it’s just that she’s only seeing the good and happy side of having an active internet-life, and not the bad and distracting and at times destructive side of it. yes, having an active internet-life is enjoyable, of course everyone will agree with that, there’s just this thin line to getting the addiction… and i don’t want her to get addicted to internet at this time of her life. she’s still too young, not yet even a high school student! i got addicted to internet not until my 3rd high school year (though by then it was still dial-up days, but even so!) moreover, she doesn’t have a PC, which may lead to her spending so much money for computer rentals, and she may end up like me, who instead of doing her assignment even major requirements/ projects, gets distracted and resort to cramming the night before deadlines.  knowing that she’s quite intelligent, i don’t want her to go through those kind of times. also, she shouldn’t be copying us, who have very little time socializing personally, yet have so many friends from social networking sites which sounds illogical and ironic. i and my two older brothers are guilty for setting an example to her, but starting today, i will not help her be addicted to an over-active-internet-life like mine. considering her family, i believe this kind of lifestyle should not fit her.

i still don’t know how to say my explanation to her in a nice way, but i hope when the time comes, i’m not too late.

internet=addiction, sadly. Your just trying to be a nice aunt and help her realize it, but maybe since shes unaccepting, she’ll have to learn…the hard way. dun dun dun! hahah ;) I understand being annoyed with people though-

I think I know who that is. :)) And I believe she’s already figured out how to do that.

Of course I believe that she shouldnt be living the way I actually live (lol), but that doesnt mean it’s all that bad. Did you tell her why you didn’t do it? She needs to know so she’d understand you better. Cheesy as it may sound to her, she deserves some explanation about your sudden disapproval of things- like teaching her how to update her twitter through mobile, which sounds undeniably common nowadays. :)

You should accept changes in the new age, though. This is the new generation. LOL. Kids like her on Twitter isn’t very shocking now at all. You should be open to the bitter truth haha. I agree with Jordan, they’ll gonna go through it the hard way.

But personally I think that only Filipinos these days do not consider it good to go be a little bit active online because we’re more conservative. I observe that these days you’ll really need to live a life with some more taste of the internet, not just because I do it, but because this is where the trending information are going to. At least that’s how I see the (greater part of the) world. :D
